Awe Inspiring, amazing, otherworldly, intense, heartbreakingly beautiful, primal, orgasmic and transformative. None of these words do justice to the depth of feeling that I experienced as my husband and myself brought our son into the world.
My birth story is one of ease and grace and blinding sensation; where I felt I was the conduit between Heaven and Earth. I fully believe that Creation, when talking about the act of giving birth, is ACTUAL Heaven on Earth. It is the intensity of God running through mortal veins. Children are flesh of our flesh and blood of our blood. They are brought forth from love and delivered in to this existence by the Waters of Life.
They come in as Purity…they arrive as Innocence. The medicine of Birth is healing and sin cleansing, while allowing us to rise to our fullest, most High Potential. A woman giving birth does not question her purpose.
All of this, I felt as my body awakened to the Opening. I purged, I prayed, I quieted my mind. I crawled out and down from my Mind, for birth is not a heady experience, but one that is felt fully by the body and heart. It's an experience that twists time in on itself and repeatedly drops you moaning and sighing into the present.
A present that changes, yet stays the same as ecstatic relief nears. And all I could do was breath. My breath expanded and unfolded my core to allow space and safe passage of my child. The length of their journey is so short, yet it needs to sprout, blossom and bloom in perfect order as they align their entrance. While he worked so hard at BECOMING all I had to do was surrender. All I had to do was allow. Allow myself to be strong. Allow myself to sing, grunt, moan and move. Allow myself to be loved with out fear of judgment. Allow myself to love-- more than I ever thought could be possible.
Ariana Cotardo is a proud mother and entrepreneur, using Creativity and Love in all aspects of her life.
